Club Shop

The shop that doesn’t actually sell anything.

HMSCMC

HMSCMC merchandise

The HMSCMC Club Shop does not hold stock, take payments or send anything through the post.

Instead, members can arrange their own hoodies, sweatshirts, polo shirts, windscreen stickers and other Club items using HMSCMC artwork.

This keeps things simple: no stock cupboard, no postage and no Treasurer wondering why there are seventeen unwanted XXL hoodies left over from 2027.

What it can look like

This is my own HMS Conway Motorcycle Club hoodie, privately commissioned using the Motorcycle Club artwork.

It illustrates the basic idea behind this rather unusual shop. HMSCMC does not need to buy boxes of clothing in assorted sizes and hope somebody wants them. Members can choose the garment they actually want and have the appropriate Club artwork applied to it by a supplier of their choice.

The result can be rather more individual than conventional Club merchandise, without leaving the Club with a cupboard full of unsold stock.

Bespoke Chapter Editions

Club artwork can also be personalised with a member’s Conway years. The example above is the Motorcycle Club 69-71 Chapter Edition.

Similar bespoke versions can be produced for the Motor Club, Motorcycle Club and Motorhome Club, using the appropriate Conway years. In this sense, an HMSCMC Chapter is a Conway generation rather than necessarily a geographical branch.

Tactical Hoodies & Other Clothing

Customised hoodies and similar clothing can be ordered directly from suppliers on eBay and elsewhere. Whether a Club hoodie technically qualifies as tactical equipment is probably best left unresolved.

Prices and offers vary considerably between suppliers, and an attractive introductory price does not necessarily apply to additional garments. It is therefore worth checking the total price for the quantity actually required before ordering.

Members can choose their own garment, colour and size, then provide the supplier with the appropriate HMSCMC artwork.

The artwork needs to be supplied in the correct format for printing or embroidery. Suitable high-resolution files with a transparent background are available from the webmaster.

Windscreen Stickers

The badges also work well as small windscreen or vehicle stickers.

Around 90-100 mm is likely to be a useful size for most cars, although members are free to choose whatever suits their vehicle.

For transparent stickers, make sure the printer is given artwork with a transparent background.

Artwork

Printers and embroidery companies will normally require a high-resolution PNG file with an alpha channel. The alpha channel provides the transparent area around the badge, allowing the colour of the garment, vehicle or other background to show through.

Suitable HMS Conway Motor Club, HMS Conway Motorcycle Club and HMS Conway Motorhome Club artwork is available from the webmaster.

A word about suppliers

HMSCMC does not recommend or endorse any particular printer, embroiderer or merchandise supplier. Members arrange and pay for their own items directly with the supplier of their choice.

If members find particularly good suppliers, their details can be shared through the Forum.
