What information we collect

When you apply for HMSCMC membership or use a member account, we may collect information including your name, email address, Conway details, membership category, postal address, telephone number and other information supplied as part of your membership or account.

The website and Forum may also record technical information such as your IP address, browser information, login activity and other information required for the security and operation of the site.

If you contribute to the website or Forum, we may also hold Forum posts, photographs, vehicle information, registration information, articles, marketplace submissions, messages and other material that you choose to submit.

How we use your information

We use personal information to administer HMSCMC membership, provide member accounts, operate the Forum, communicate with members, organise Club activities, publish member-submitted material where appropriate, maintain the security of the website and investigate misuse where necessary.

The principal legal basis for this processing is the legitimate interest of HMSCMC in operating and administering the Club and its website. Where information is provided for a specific optional purpose requiring consent, that consent may be withdrawn.

We do not sell members’ personal information and do not provide member details to advertisers.

Public and member-only information

Some information submitted to HMSCMC is intended for publication. This may include articles, photographs, Members’ Vehicles entries, registrations, marketplace listings and other material supplied for display on the website.

Information posted in member-only areas, including the Forum, is available to other authorised members but is not intended for general public access.

Who we share information with

Personal information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the website, including our web-hosting provider and the software and email services used by WordPress and HMSCMC.

Where a service provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, appropriate legal safeguards for the transfer of personal information will be relied upon where required.

How long we keep information
